I'm officially a statistic!

Today I had to get my stitches taken out and the appointment was originally set for 9:15am, but the Doctor's office called the other day and said they'd have to bump it to 9:45am. So I thought about it and said I'll sleep in and go to the Doctor's office get my stitches removed, then go to work. Well, I changed my mind today and went into to work, then about 9:10am I go out to my car to go to the Doctor's appointment. We'll I get out there and go to unlock my car and notice the following...

Well I guess I don't need keys to unlock my car!!! So I don't touch anything because I figure they'll dust for prints and catch the bastard that did this. So I dial 911 - and she explains I can wait an hour and a half for police or drive down to the station and file a report. We'll I'm waiting - I'm not touching anything. (Normally I keep my car unlocked because I don't have anything of value in there, but today I had a $7.34 check that needed to be deposited and an important paper that I needed to drop off at my Broker's office.) While I'm waiting I have a look around the parking lot, and they got the car next to me as well. They'd actually taken their stereo and speakers, popped their trunk and stolen some gift cards out of her unopened mail she left in the car! After she'd calmed down, we went inside and found out that this had to have happened between 8:40am and 9:00am (deductive reasoning from the time clock entries and smokers coming back from break.) I called the Doctor's office explained what happened and bumped up the appointment to 11:30am. So I go back outside and investigate what might be gone and notice the obvious...

I then look around the car...they didn't touch that important paper or check. They took my Aiwa $99.00 stereo (faceplate and all), a Uniden GMRS radio, the spare change from my ash tray, some odds and ends from my center console (I don't even remember what was in there), and worst of all they took my lunch! The jerks actually took 3 pieces of Domino's Pizza that I brought to work for lunch and forgot to bring in the office. They didn't take the Mountain Dew I was also going to have or anything from the glove compartment. I'm not even mad about the radio. I was just using it because it was the cheapest radio I could find that had an input for my MP3 player that wasn't in the back of the radio. I'm really mad that they actually pulled the lock off my car, dented and scratched it up, and ruined the entire front dashboard. I would have rather they came in the office, and said "Give me your radio".

After talking to the Toledo Police Department we went through what was stolen, etc, etc so I could get a police report filed. They don't dust for prints or anything. I asked if I should call the local pawn shops around because they log and video record all the transactions and she said don't bother - they sell that stuff on the street for a quick couple of bucks....

So I head off to my Doctor's appointment they cut out the stitches and I get back in the car and head back to the office. Since the jerks took my lunch I hit the drive-thru to get some lunch and my total comes to $4.34. Fine - I've got four one dollar bills and go to reach for change and forgot they took that. Now I'm even more pissed. I head back to work in silence. It's just sad that some jerk has to ruin my day and take my property that I actually bust my butt for. And all the way back the car just smells - you know like the caked on baked in cigarette smell that some people smell like.

I'm not one go crying and stuff, I just take it in stride. People just suck. You can't help it - there's people like me who are productive members of society and then there is scum. We try to get ahead and then you worthless scum ruin it for society as a whole. Thanks!
