Windows 8 Fail

So now I'm up and running on Windows 8....I'm a big fan on building on previous knowledge. Windows 8 and the new Metro UI is a pain! I already know what to do and how to navigate around the Windows OS. Now that you've "moved my cheese" and enabled things like the ribbon, hidden the command prompt, totally screwed up the start button, I'm a little pissed!

You can change most of these items back. Which is usually what I do. I disable all the animations and set the computer for best performance, turn off the Metro UI by doing this registry hack...

Via REGEDIT, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer navigate and change RPEnabled key to a “0” instead of the default “1”. It disables some of the ribbon, the Metro UI and also some of the file operations, but I get my start button back and am INSTANTLY productive. That's all I want. Don't put lipstick on a pig, I just need to get my work done!
